Chassis mount canopies offer a lighter overall weight and are stronger in comparison to tray mounted canopies. The floor height is lower and flush with no lips for things to catch on when loading and unloading the canopy. Chassis mount canopies also provide a cost saving to customers as you are not purchasing both a tray and canopy.
Tray mounted canopies offer the flexibility of having a canopy shorter than the tray, this enables a small tray or ledge at the rear for external storage. Users can also remove the canopy completely and convert back to a tray.
Normally Tray mounted canopies have the reputation of being heavier and having a higher floor than a chassis mount canopy. Trig points unique design minimises these issues.
Trig Point Tray mounted canopies lap down both sides of the tray and bolt to the sides of the tray. This enables a flush floor which is only 35mm higher than the chassis mount floor and allows us to use a large cross section where the door frame joins the floor.
The large cross section significantly adds to the strength of this join and supports the canopy wall. Removing what is normally a weak point which can be prone to failure on other brands of canopies.
At Trig Point we have undertaken significant R&D to ensure the appropriate material is used for each location in the canopy to ensure optimal strength and a lighter weight finish.
Areas under high fatigue loads such as mounts and the chassis are steel to ensure strength. Whereas big bulky panels that are not under high loads can use alloy to save on weight. This results in our products offering the best combination of weight and strength on the market.

Yes, Trig Point canopies are the most dust proof canopies on the market.
Trig Point achieve this by placing automotive seals on the canopy body (rather than the doors) resulting in a flat sealing surface and protects the seals from air and water pressure acting directly on them leading to the best sealed canopy on the market.
Trig Point Canopies contain air vents on the front wall to allow the doors to shut and prevent condensation within the canopy. We fit all our air vents with dust filters.

Unfortunately, the design of our tray mounted canopies makes them incompatible with other brands’ trays. Our tray mounted canopies are unique in that they overlap down the sides of the tray. This design feature gives us a significant increase in the strength of the floor and walls of the canopies whilst keeping the floor low and flush with the door opening for easy loading.
