Founded by Murray Brookes, a 4WD accessories design and production engineer, we specialise in high-quality products built to endure Australia’s toughest conditions.
Our chassis-mount canopy, one of the first designed specifically for 4WD touring, was originally created for Murray’s personal use and quickly attracted interest from friends, colleagues and fellow travellers. This led to the formation of Trig Point in 2015.
Today, we offer a comprehensive range of trays, canopies, and accessories, all manufactured locally and certified as Australian Made.
Trig Point believes in Australian products for Australian conditions. With our team being avid 4WDers and highly experienced in the industry, we are proud to produce concise, simple, and elegant designs resulting in strong, durable, and functional products.
Our products don’t start with a product brief or a sales target—everything we design is to fulfill a need. All Trig Point products start life as a CAD concept and undergo an iterative design process where we balance styling, functionality, manufacturing, weight, and strength to ensure the product meets the identified need. Our flexibility and commitment to getting the design right in CAD before moving to an equally iterative prototyping phase is a testament to our attention to detail.
Trig Point's testing process includes FEA, physical shaker table testing, and real-world trials on the hardest tracks and terrain. Once the design is finalised, we ensure our manufacturing processes are set up to consistently meet our high benchmark for quality. We believe our rigorous testing is one of the most comprehensive on the market, giving us confidence that every product is as good as it possibly can be.
2015
First canopy produced for Murray’s personal vehicle. Unsatisfied with the canopies available on the market, Murray used his engineering skills to design his canopy as an after-hours project whilst working as a design engineer at ARB. Built with help from friends in the 4WD industry and fitted in his driveway, it quickly drew attention and the seed for Trig Point was planted.
2016
Renting part of Uneek 4X4’s factory in Carrum Downs, Trig Point formed as a sole trader business with Murray rapidly going from an after-hours project to full time in the business as orders came in.
Expanding our product range to cover more vehicles proved to be a good early decision. To meet demand other Melbourne manufacturers assisted with fabrication.
2017
Trig Point was established as a company and the team began to form.
With sales continuing to grow, space rapidly become a challenge and Trig Point moved into a larger site in Carrum Downs. Trig Point expanded its product range to include trays.
2019
Trig Point moved into a larger premises in Rowville, our current headquarters at 30 Laser Drive. To ensure our high-quality standards were met, our paintwork moved in house to ensure a consistent finish. Importantly, Sammy, the Trig Point dog, joined the team this year.
2022
With our manufacturing capacity struggling to keep pace with demand, Trig Point opened a brand new sheet-metal factory in Rowville with state of the art laser cutting, press brakes and welding facilities.
2024
Trig Point’s Horizon Canopies and Trays were released. After three years of extensive research and development and drawing on everything we have learned since 2015, we are proud to offer you the next generation of innovative, lightweight and durable trays and canopies.

Trig Point canopies and trays can be purchased through new car dealerships, fitted before you pick up your new vehicle and packaged with your finance.
